For the first time, the Valsesian solidarity association “Un Villaggio per Amico” brought the project to Milan, through “Insieme”, the Charity Dinner held last October 17th at the Sala Orlando of Palazzo Castiglioni, attended by over 240 people.

The primary objective of the charity dinner of “un villaggio per amico” was to raise funds to support the “Camp Garba Project” in Kenya, which aims to create an agricultural cooperative that will provide job opportunities to over 50 local families by reclaiming 25,000 square meters of land for agriculture.

The association “Un villaggio per amico” onlus was founded in May 2005 by a group of people who, after having had experiences of helping at a mission in Kenya, felt deeply within themselves a sense of responsibility towards all those people who live in difficult conditions.

The association’s activity began in Isiolo, where the Sisters of S. Maria di Loreto operate.

The primary purpose of the association is to promote the autonomous development of people and to help them live with dignity in their own country, without having to try to escape in search of a better future in distant countries, where unfortunately we know that a better life does not await them.
